Shunda Creek Wilderness Hostel

HI Nordegg, Shunda Creek Wilderness Hostel

321 Shunda Creek Road
Nordegg, Alberta

The Rockies don't always deserve ALL the attention. In the David Thompson corridor, HI Nordegg is a favourite four-season spot for climbers, hikers and adventure seekers who want a quieter outdoor paradise, about half way between Edmonton and Calgary and an hour from Banff National Park. In winter, the adventure starts right at your doorstep, whether you're setting out on cross-country skis to Shunda Meadows or exploring the landscape with a pair of complimentary snowshoes provided by the hostel.

Highlights
  • Keep your eyes open to spot some wild horses along the roads
  • Walk along the beautiful Shunda creek that meanders around the hostel
  • Discover the geological formations of Hoodoo Creek
