Summer of Soccer 2026
Budget-friendly, close-to-the-action stays at HI in Vancouver
Your home base for Canada's biggest summer of soccer... ever.
Heading to Vancouver for the 2026 soccer matches? We've got you.
Pick your base: HI Vancouver Downtown sits downtown with quick access to everything happening in the city. Or, stay by the water at HI Vancouver Jericho Beach. Either way, come back to comfy rooms, shared spaces made for meeting other fans, and a calendar of hostel activities tied into the bigger events around town.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Reservations open on December 6th.
HI Vancouver Downtown
HI Vancouver Jericho Beach
Just a 20-minute trip from downtown with easy transit. Near the water, with a calmer feel than the city centre and perfect if you want a breather between the big moments.
Plan like a pro (or at least a fan)
Q: How far are your hostels from BC Place?
A: HI Vancouver Downtown is about a 1.5km walk or a quick transit ride to the stadium. HI Vancouver Jericho Beach is in the West Point Grey area, roughly 20 minutes from downtown by transit.
Q: What kinds of rooms do you have?
A: Shared dorm rooms (our cheapest option—you get your own bed in a room with other travellers), and cozy private rooms. Some privates have their own ensuite, and some share a bathroom.
Q: What's the payment and cancellation policy?
A: Bookings during the match-day window require 100% prepayment at the time of booking and are non-refundable. Keep this in mind when choosing your dates! Read our full booking terms and conditions here.
Q: Which hostel should I choose?
A: Want to be right in the city buzz or stay in a private room? Go Downtown. Want a beachy reset and social environment between matches? Jericho Beach is your spot.
Q: What’s there to do between matches?
A: Lots. We'll be hosting special hostel activities and watch parties, plus easy ways to hit fan zones and city events. Stay tuned for more info!
Q: Are you an official FIFA World Cup tournament partner?
A: No, we're just a budget-friendly place to stay in Vancouver while the city hosts big matches in summer 2026.
Q: I've never heard of you! What is HI Canada?
A: We're a nonprofit hostel network built to make travel in Canada open, affordable, and community-driven. Learn more about us here!

Easy escapes just outside Vancouver
The city will be buzzing next summer — but when you need a breather, we've got two easy getaways just outside the rush:
HI Penticton
Head inland for sunshine, lake days, vineyard or orchard visits. Relaxed, friendly and a nice change of pace from the city
