Métis Crossing

It is located 1.5 hours northeast of Edmonton and 10 minutes South of Smokey Lake on the Victoria Trail. At the crossing you can experience wide-open spaces, traditional Métis art workshops, signature experiences, Métis farmyard animals and camping.

Pumpkin Park

Right off West Railway Drive, Pumpkin Park welcomes you with seven enormous concrete pumpkins—an instantly recognisable photo stop that puts Smoky Lake on the map as Alberta’s “Pumpkin Capital”.

Iron Horse Trail

The Iron Horse Trail is the longest completed section of the Trans Canada Trail in Alberta and a true piece of local history. Once a CN railway line nicknamed the “Iron Horse,” this trail still bears the marks of its past. Hike, cycle, or mountain bike it, and you’ll follow the same route taken by trains, traders, and explorers more than a century ago.

Smoky Lake Museum

Step back in time at this quirky local museum housed in the historic Victoria School, where pioneer artifacts, restored farm machinery and the iconic Pakan Ferry tell the story of early settlers in the Smoky Lake region.

Smoky Lake Golf Course RV Park

Tee off on a beautifully maintained, tree-lined 9-hole golf course just outside Smoky Lake, with scenic elevation changes, a fully stocked pro shop and a clubhouse patio overlooking the valley. Perfect for a relaxed round or a weekend getaway, plus there are RV sites and practice facilities to make a full adventure of it!

Metis Crossing

Dive into Alberta’s first major Métis cultural interpretive centre on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, where you can explore historic river lots, traditional crafts, storytelling and immersive experiences that celebrate Métis heritage and community.
