Sleep in your own private caboose traincar with lots of outdoor space to social distance. Borrow a canoe for a paddle, take a stroll with a llama, hike the local trails, stargaze around the campfire or lounge by the lakeside to take in some sunshine. The on-site general store will keep you stocked in the meantime.

Sleep in your own caboose! Each of our three waterfront cabooses sleeps up to 6 in bunkbeds and has its own kitchen, sitting area and WC. Each caboose has a designated shower stall in the shower building, as well as its own BBQ and outdoor furniture.

HI Shuswap Lake is a great setting for small to medium sized groups of all ages: corporate retreats, club events, family reunions and even weddings. We can help arrange activities and provide a range of catered meals to make your stay easy.

Simple and cozy! Train style room is unforgettable! Nice service of all! Delicious breakfast: fruit pancake and hot mint chocolate! Free canoeing is a wonderful experience. We will go back to Hi-Shuswap!


Looking for something different for one night with the kids. This was it.

Special hostel the doorms are in Caboose of a train very cool. The lake is nearby and you can swim whenever you want. Good shower hot water. You can buy grocery in the hostel.
