BANFF FILM FESTIVAL CONTEST

1. Contest Eligibility:

The "Banff Film Festival Exclusive Contest" (hereinafter referred to as the "Contest") is open to participants from any country who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.

2. Contest Duration:

The Contest begins on November 1st, 2024 at 4 PM and ends on November 3rd, 2024 at 5 PM (the "Contest Period").

3. How to Enter:

Participants must visit the HI Canada booth at the 2024 Banff Film Festival and weigh the backpack on display. They must then visit the contest entry page to enter their weight guess in lbs and follow the instructions to complete the entry form. No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest.

4. Prize Details:

There are a total of 3 prizes available to be won:

• Prizes #1: One 2024-2025 Wilderness Season Pass
• Prize #2: One night in a private room or dorm at HI Banff Alpine Centre for up to 2 people. Valid until November 1st, 2026.
• Prize #3: One night in a private room or dorm at HI Lake Louise for up to 2 people. Valid until November 1st, 2026.

5. Prize Allocation:

Winners will be selected on November 11th in the following manner: the contestant with the closest guess to how much the backpack weighs will be contacted first to select their prize. The person with the second closest answer will be getting to choose their prize afterwards, and the person with the third closest guest will be getting the remaining prize.
In the event of a tie for the closest guess, the winners will be selected randomly between said tied contestants.

6. Prize Conditions:

The following conditions apply to the prizes:

• Prizes are transferable but have no cash value.
• Winners are responsible for any expenses not explicitly stated in the prize descriptions, including but not limited to travel expenses.
• Prizes must be redeemed within the redemption period listed on the vouchers.
• Availability for accommodation at the hostels is subject to availability and date restrictions.
• Season passes are subject to the terms and conditions as described on the Wilderness Season Pass page.

7. Winner Notification:

All winners will be notified by email or phone within 5 business days of the drawing. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 24 hours from the first attempt, an alternate winner will be selected.

8. General Conditions:

The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.

Contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entry or entrant that does not comply with the rules or that seeks to tamper with or disrupt the Contest.

Contest organizers reserve the right to modify or terminate the Contest at any time without prior notice.

9. Release and Limitation of Liability:

By entering the Contest, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Contest organizers and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, and employees from any liability for any injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from participation in the Contest.

10. Privacy Notice:

Personal information collected from participants will be used only for the purposes of administering the Contest and will not be shared with third parties.

By entering the contest, you agree to be subscribed to HI Canada's newsletter and email communications. You can choose to modify your preferences or unsubscribe at any time without affecting your contest entry.

11. Governing Law:

The Contest is governed by the laws of British Columbia, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Vancouver, British Columbia.

12. Contest Organizer:

The Contest is organized by HI Canada, headquartered at 535 Thurlow Street, Suite 505, Vancouver, BC, V6E 3L2.
