Here are a few of the things we love most about living here.

Hit a festival

Halifax sure loves its music and knows how to throw a good party. Here, culture lovers won't fall short of concerts to attend and festivals to hit!

Learn to surf

Yes, there are surf spots on the East Coast! You can learn to surf during your weekends in Lawrencetown beach, about 40 minutes from Halifax.

Splurge on delicious foods

Lobster, donairs, chowders... Treat yourself at restaurants or shop the Halifax Farmers' Market to cook at home (or at the hostel!) to discover Halifax's amazing culinary scene.

Explore Cape Breton

Halifax is the closest big city to Cape Breton, the gem of the Canadian Maritimes. We warmly recommend you explore it on your time off!
