The new HI Jasper is the perfect home base for groups exploring Jasper National Park. Cook for yourself in the hostel's large kitchen or BBQ outside.
Valley of the Five Lakes
This hiking trail is close to Jasper and is considered moderate. It is 4.8km and has 163m of elevation gain. It's a great hike to see wildflowers and be rewarded with a jump in the refreshing waters of the lakes. Even if the trail is rather busy, keep in mind that bears have often been spotted in the area. |
Pyramid Island
Pyramid island is definitely the best place in town to do stargazing. If you're lucky, you might even see some northern lights! Check out the Aurora Forecast app to choose the best moment to go stargazing. |
Maligne Lake Cruise

If you're traveling on a budget but are an experienced paddler, you can also reach Spirit Island by renting a canoe and paddling the 20 kms
