Groups Information

Old Fort Point

This beautiful loop trail is 3.7km, with 173m of elevation gain. It's considered a moderate hike, and it's a great place to go birding, so bring them binoculars!

Valley of the Five Lakes

This hiking trail is close to Jasper and is considered moderate. It is 4.8km and has 163m of elevation gain. It's a great hike to see wildflowers and be rewarded with a jump in the refreshing waters of the lakes. Even if the trail is rather busy, keep in mind that bears have often been spotted in the area.

Jasper Park Information Center

Wanna venture into the backcountry? Head to the Jasper Park Information center (which is a historic building, by the way) and chat with the friendly park experts to inquire on trail conditions, wildlife activity, and get the maps you need.

Get there

Jasper SkyTram

The Jasper SkyTram is an aerial tramway that takes you near the summit of Whistlers Mountain, where stunning scenic views and an accessible, interpretive boardwalk await. Psst, you can get an exclusive discount with your HI Membership!

Pyramid Island

Pyramid island is definitely the best place in town to do stargazing. If you're lucky, you might even see some northern lights! Check out the Aurora Forecast app to choose the best moment to go stargazing.

Get there

Miette Hot Spring

Nestled high up in the mountains, about an hour driving from Jasper, lie these naturally occurring hot springs that have been transformed into easily accessible pools. It's even more magical when it snows!

Get there

Maligne Lake Cruise

Jasper's most emblematic landscape, Maligne Lake and its Spirit Island, is truly worth the hype. To get there, the easiest way is with the (rather pricey) boat cruise offered by Pursuit. If you're traveling on a budget but are an experienced paddler, you can also reach Spirit Island by renting a canoe and paddling the 20 kms

This week at the hostel

Trivia Night

Unleash your inner know-it-all... it's trivia time! We alternate weekly between general trivia & musical trivia, because variety is the spice of life. All are welcome and prizes are given for winners.

Paint & Sip

Get creative with Megan & Shaylee! We bring the paint, canvases and brushes, you bring the inspiration and willingness to make happy little accidents (in the words of Bob Ross). If you can't take your art with you, you can donate it to the hostel's makeshift gallery. Sundays at 4 PM.

Board Games Night

Come along for a classic board games night hosted by William and meet new friends every Saturday night at 7 PM in the Sleepy Hollow Cafe. We've got card games, board games and word games, but feel free to bring your own.

Dungeons & Dragons Night

Calling all adventurers, travellers and mischief makers: join us every Thursdays at 6 PM for a night of Dungeons and Dragons in the café. Drop-ins are always welcome - simply bring a character sheet and your sense of adventure!

Café des Langues

Every Friday at 7 PM, join language enthusiasts, polyglot backpackers and total newbies in a friendly and relaxed setting at our Sleepy Hollow café to mingle and practice your second (or fifth!) language.

Sleepy Hollow Café

Sleepy Hollow Café is right in our lobby! We serve a variety of breakfast and lunch options at affordable prices. Fuel up before your day's adventures and grab something to go to eat on the go.
