HI Canada cares about the health, safety and peace of mind of our guests. Here's what we're doing to help you stay healthy during your travels.
At this time, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has assessed the health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for people in Canada.
How are we keeping you safe?
HI Canada has always followed a high level of health and safety standards at our hostels. We are closely monitoring the recommendations of WHO and local public health authorities and will implement changes accordingly.
We encourage you to check with your local government agencies for travel advice and alerts and to regularly monitor travel health recommendations for safety and security.
How can I protect myself from COVID-19?
- Wash your hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds or use alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
- Minimize hand contact with your eyes, mouth and nose.
- Cough or sneeze into your arm or sleeve.
- Stay at least one meter away from people, especially those who are coughing or sneezing.
Travelling in Canada
How can I plan for worry free travel?
We understand that plans change and things happen. Book direct on hihostels.ca for the best and most flexible rates. HI Canada has always offered pay-on-arrival booking options and flexible cancellation policies. This means you can book your travels worry free, knowing that HI Canada allows cancellations free of charge up to one day before arrival.
Please note that credit cards will be charged for the first night's stay for same-day cancellations or no shows.
Already booked with us but can't make it?
Our hostels generally require that cancellations be made at least one day prior to arrival to avoid any charges, unless your booking was prepaid and non-refundable at time of reservation.
Our standard booking and cancellation policies apply for all reservations unless you're travelling from a restricted country with a government-issued travel ban, in which case we will refund you any prepaid portion of your booking. For group bookings, please contact the hostel directly or email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
