Vancouver Transit Strike Information
Vancouver's transit workers will be on strike between November 27 to 29, 2019, resulting in a widespread shutdown of bus, SkyTrain and SeaBus service.
Here's a bit of helpful information to help you get around during this time.
Getting to/from the airport
The Canada Line SkyTrain service will not be affected by the strike and will continue to operate normally.
Getting around Vancouver
All bus routes, the Millennium and Expo SkyTrain lines and the SeaBus will be non-operational for three days. Here are a few other ways to get around the city.
Taxi
There are various taxi companies in Vancouver. Give 'em a Google or ask for help at the front desk. At this time, Uber and Lyft don't operate in the city.
Walk or bike
Vancouver is super pedestrian and cyclist friendly! Head out on foot, or borrow a bike from the city's bike share system.
Rent a car
If you need to go a bit farther, you can borrow a car for short trips using local car share apps like Share Now or Evo, or rent a car with your HI member discount at Enterprise, National, Alamo or Hertz. Check out ride-sharing app Poparide to see if you can hitch a ride with someone going your way.
