Winter Hours of Operation 2013 - 2014

The Wilderness hostels of the Rockies adjust their hours in the winter to accommodate road conditions and seasonal demand.  Take note of the adjusted hours and openings for 2013-2014.

HI-Athabasca Falls

• Closed November 01, 2013 to November 28, 2013
• Closed every Tuesday from October 01, 2013 to April 30, 2014
• Except open on the long weekend at 5:00pm November 8, 2013 to 11:00am November 11, 2013. 

HI-Beauty Creek

• Closed October 8, 2012 to May 16, 2013 (**Key access available during this time)
• Closed October 14, 2013 to May 15, 2014 (**Key access available during this time)

HI-Castle Mountain

• Open all winter
• Closed every Monday from October 01, 2013 to April 30, 2014
• Except open during the day Monday October 14, 2013; November 11, 2013; February 17, 2013 and April 21, 2014 till 11:00am.

HI-Hilda Creek

• Open year round by key access ONLY (not staffed)

HI-Kananaskis

• Closed October 14 to November 07, 2013 and April 01 to April 17, 2014
• Closed every Monday from October 01, 2013 to April 30, 2014
• Except open during the day Monday October 14, 2013; November 11, 2013; February 17, 2013 and April 21, 2014 till 11:00am.

HI-Maligne Canyon

• Closed April 01 to April 17, 2014
• Closed every Wednesday from October 01, 2013 to April 30, 2014

HI-Mosquito Creek

• Closed October 14 to November 07, 2013, November 11 to 21, 2013 and April 01 to April 17, 2014
• Closed every Tuesday from October 01, 2013 to April 30, 2014
• Except open during the day Monday October 14, 2013; till 11:00am.

HI-Edith Cavell

• Closed until May 16, 2013
• Closed June 1 to June 14, 2013
• Closed October 14, 2013 to May 15, 2014
• **Key access available except from October 14, 2013 to February 28, 2014 due to closure for the Parks Canada Caribou management practice.

HI-Rampart Creek

• Closed October 14 to November 07, 2013 and April 01 to April 17, 2014
• Closed every Thursday from October 01, 2013 to April 30, 2014
• Except open during the day Monday October 14, 2013; till 11:00am.

HI-Yoho

• Closed September 24, 2013 to late June 2014

NOTE: All Hostels weekly closure dates will be suspended between December 25, 2013 and January 2, 2014 and the hostels will remain open.

*Access is available to HI-Beauty Creek, HI-Hilda Creek and HI-Mount Edith Cavell by a keylock system through HI-Jasper, HI-Nordegg or HI-Lake Louise Alpine Centre. Learn more about the keylock system.
