Setup of a farmer's market devoted to organic agriculture within the AIQ (HI-Quebec City). Cultivated without pesticide or manure, the fruit and vegetables for this market are collected by hostel volunteers and are sold at a moderate price to hostel guests. The guests are at the same time informed of the benefits of organic agriculture for our health, for safeguarding the environment and for biodiversity.

"Eric's Tour"
Erik's tour takes guests to two of the lower mainland's most heavily visited and beloved lush forest canyons. Most wonderfully, Lynn Canyon Regional Park gives people the opportunity to see some of British Columbia 's ancient rainforests and occasionally the wildlife that the forest supports. At Capilano, guests can see the antiquity of the enormous old-growth trees as a stark juxtaposition to the relative youth of the city. HI - Jasper Hostel for "Summer activity weekly Program schedule"
The HI Jasper Summer Activity Weekly Program Schedule
This five-day a week schedule that offered guests of the HI Jasper the opportunity to explore Jasper's local attractions at a very affordable rate. The activities involved sight seeing tours of The Valley of the Five Lakes including the Athabasca Falls and Horseshoe Lake , the Edith Cavell Meadows including the Angel Glacier loop on Mount Edith Cavell and Stanley Falls including Sunwapta Falls . An Athabasca valley bike tour including the Maligne Canyon and Lake Annette were also featured. Finally a weekly day hike, offered guests the opportunity to explore such peeks as Old Man Mountain, Pyramid Mountain as well as the Wilcox Pass (located in the Columbia Icefield area) or Indian Ridge located just behind the Whistler's (the mountain the hostel is located on).

HI-Ottawa Jail Hostel for
"Spooky Sleepovers Program"
As the most haunted building in Ottawa, we created and hosted the Spooky Sleepover Program. Designed to run only during the Halloween season (October 20-31), the program included the following elements: Spot on the Ghosts and the Gallows "Are you afraid of the dark?" Halloween tour, run in the dark by lantern. The 60-minute tour recounts the haunting story of D'Arcy McGee's assassination and Patrick Whelan's incarceration and subsequent public hanging at the Carleton County Gaol (now the HI-Ottawa Jail Hostel) as well as other spooky stories that are abundant in the hostel.
A midnight séance on death row was run as an additional activity on several nights and several times went past 2:30 AM. This portion of the program was run by Merrickville Psychic Services and was included as an add-on portion of the program. A sleepover on our spooky cell floor.
